A tiny apartment with everything you need

Studio from Taiwan A Little Design can transform a very small area in a full and comfortable accommodation.

This apartment in Taipei previously served as a Studio for piano lessons. The owner of the apartment travels frequently in connection with work and even some time living abroad.

But when she works in Taipei, it is more important than not a large area of housing, and its proximity to work, so this compact apartment seemed ideal.

Area of the apartment consists of 17.6 square meters. It turned out that this is not enough to accommodate a queen-size bed, a living room and find a place for storage of the owner. Beam, which extends along the entire width of the apartment, limited space is available. In the kitchen there was no room even for a small refrigerator, and the bathrooms were paradoxically greater in comparison with living spaces.

Proceeding from the disadvantages of the interior, the designers were able to correctly distribute the area between the zones, adhering to logical proportions. Bathroom and kitchen reversed, and the hall combined with the kitchen to create a unified space. Washing machine, sink and gas stove were placed along two kitchen walls, and for the fridge found a place in the alcove under the stairs. In the tiny kitchen and found a place for the table top of sufficient length that you need for a comfortable cooking.

On top placed open shelves for dishes and complements them with high cabinets on the top tier. Frequently used items stored on the shelves and are always at hand and rarely used food and dishes you want to keep upstairs. General lighting is provided by spot and local – built-in lighting under the shelves.

In addition, fortunately, the ceilings in the flat were very high and 3.4 meters, which allowed to use them for decorating the second tier. On the second tier to place the bedroom, however, fit only the mattress on one side of the staircase and a nightstand on the other. However, this is enough for a comfortable stay. The lighting is provided by compact wall lamp.

Lead up to the mezzanine helps the ladder, which is also used for access to the upper lockers. The area between the stairs and the living room there is a small podium – it was necessary to place the pipes. The designers were able to use free inches of space for the arrangement of open shelves in the alcove under the window.

Longitudinal beam now shares the technical and living space of an apartment, and the space under it is equipped with storage cabinets. High wardrobes were placed in the opposite end of the narrow hall (the continuation of the kitchen) – there is the door.

The recipe is practical and functional interior in a small area is a built – in and convertible furniture. It helps maximize the use of available space and keep free space. This is especially evident in the living room. Under the sofa and under the window in the living room features additional storage. The sofa can be used as a bed for guests remaining overnight. Size of folding table can be adjusted, and the table to use as dining or working. Inside the Desk has a small shelf where you can store different things-like makeup.

The bathroom has significantly reduced in size, but, nevertheless, made it more bright and airy. Here fit a compact tub, toilet, sink, and visually enlarge the space help large mirrors and bright tiles. The narrow niche in front of the toilet is used for storage of toiletries thanks to the wooden shelves. The bathroom separates the sliding door of frosted glass.
