It is difficult to describe this “House of the desert” (Desert House) is an American architect Kendrick bangs Kellogg of (Kendrick Bangs Kellogg), located on the slope of a rocky hill in the California desert near the National Park of Joshua tree (Joshua Tree National Park).
Its impressive external form, which is perfectly proportioned and harmoniously integrated into the environment, consists of multiple slabs of cast concrete, which seem to cover the interior, like the otherworldly foliage of the tree.
Completed in the early 2000s, after more than 10 years of construction, the house was built by order of the artist Bev Doolittle (Bev Doolittle) and her husband, who was fascinated by the unique aesthetics Kellogg and gave him full freedom of action.
Born in 1934, Kendrick Bangs Kellogg is considered one of the pioneers of organic architecture in the United States.
